September 28th 2018 was a big day for us because we won our second CESAward for Best Coworking Space in Bulgaria. None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for the 600 IT humans inhabiting our spaces and for the hundreds of vocal supporters we have out there.

With this post we want to say THANK YOU. For the trust. For the kind words. For the honest feedback. For making us proud of your successes. For sharing your lessons.

There was no glamorous ceremony like last year but yet it felt really good to know that our hard work throughout the year has been recognized and appreciated. Especially, in such a crucial moment when we’re working day and night to spread the Puzl awesomeness around the region.

Congrats to the winners

This year’s issue of CESAwards is seeing 2+ times more applications than the previous one and much stronger competition in most categories. This is a great sign for the regional ecosystem and we’d like to congratulate all winners and nominees! Talking about the winners, here are the Bulgarian ones:

Startup of the Year & Best Newcomer: Shkolo

Shkolo is an ed tech company aiming to digitalize the Bulgarian schools and improve the communication between teachers, parents and students.

Best Accelerator/Incubator program: Founder Institute

Founder Institute is a global network of pre-seed accelerators that supports young entrepreneurs with intense training and mentorship.

Best AI Startup: Claim Compass

Claim Compass helps flight passengers get claim compensations for delayed flights. The team got funded by 500 Startups and a bunch of other funds and angels.

Best Biotech Startup: Printivo

Printivo is a company developing 3D printers for human tissue. The team is working on their 3D bioprinter called Eve and the universal bioink Adam.

Investor of the Year: æternity Ventures

arternity Ventures is a decentralized incubator for blockchain startups building applications on the æternity platform. Earlier this year we were happy to host their week-long Starfleet Incubator Program.

Best BlockchainStartup: Nexo

Nexo claims to be the world’s first instant crypto-backed loans provider and a spin off of the CEE loan company Credissimo.

Best Fintech Startup: Klear

Klear is a peer-to-peer lending platform. If you want to learn more about them, you can always join one of P2P workshops they host at Puzl CowOrKing.

Best IoT Startup: Navigato

Navigato is a platform for management of charging stations for e-vehicles.

Best Prop-TechStartup: OfficeRnD

OfficeRnD is a coworking management software powering more than 600 locations worldwide.

Best Social Impact Startup: Red Paper Plane

Red Paper Plane delivers Design Thinking programs for children, parents and teachers.

Female Role Model ofthe Year: Maya Zlatanova

Maya is a co-founder of FindMeCure - a company collecting data about all available clinical trials and transforming it to a friendly source of information that helps people understand how clinical trials work and can be beneficial for them. How cool is that?!

Founder of the Year: Momchil Kyurkchiev

Momchil is a co-founder of Leanplum - a mobile engagement platform that helps forward-looking brands meet the real-time needs of their customers through A/B testing.

What’s next?

The CESAwards regional final will take place on October 24th in Warsaw. There, all Bulgarian winners will be competing against the national winners of Austria, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Serbia, and Hungary.
