A Puzl CowOrKing member spotlight

Every coworking has members. Some of them also bring dinner.

Bolt Food has been part of the Puzl community for almost five months. In that time the team has grown, a new city has taken off, and office attendance has gone up. We asked Dimitar Vutkov , General Manager of Bolt Food Bulgaria, how it all happened.

All the meals. All the deals.

If you haven’t ordered yet, here is the pitch in one line. “Bolt Food is the most affordable delivery platform, offering the best value for money,” says Dimitar. “It’s all the meals, all the deals.”

The team behind it is small for the size of the business, and that’s on purpose. Around 20 people work from Puzl on a typical day. The sales team uses the space the least, because they spend 90% of their time out meeting restaurant partners. Everyone else is here, making food delivery better for people.

Why Puzl?

Bolt Food picked Puzl for three reasons:

  1. One roof, one team. “We have the whole team together. It’s a precondition for building the right momentum and spirit.”
  2. The location. Close to the center, and close to the partners they visit every day.
  3. The vibe. “It’s a very vibey, very pleasant work atmosphere that people like coming to. That was not the case before we came to Puzl.”

That last point has a measurable side effect. Bolt’s policy asks people to be in the office two to three days a week, and before the move the team wasn’t quite hitting that. “Puzl helped us comply with the global procedures,” Dimitar says. “People are actually coming in more than they need to.”

We’ll take it.

Trust you can see

When we asked what the team is most proud of, Dimitar’s first answer was “You should ask them.” Then came the real one. “A team is not just people working together. It’s people who trust each other.”

Sitting together most days has made that trust easier to build. “It’s quite visible when somebody is struggling, needs a day off, or how people interact across departments. It works as an early detection mechanism.” Having more than ten other companies on the same floor helps too, because the team gets a window into how other businesses work.

Plovdiv, partner by partner

Sofia is Bolt Food’s biggest market in Bulgaria. The surprise is Plovdiv. Bolt Food launched there in mid-February, and within three months it was one of the top two players in the city. Its share has kept growing since.

The plan from here is simple to say and hard to do: “Partner by partner, city by city, neighbourhood by neighbourhood,” to prove that the best deals on the market are on Bolt Food.

Advice for the next new member

“Explore the community benefits, more than I have so far,” Dimitar says. “Enjoy it. You have one of the best places to do your own stuff. And look around, there are a lot of interesting people here.”

We asked what Puzl could do better. His answer was “two additional parking spots,” which we can actually arrange. Done.

The quick-fire round

  • Most surprising thing in the office: a microwave nobody has ever used, because the shared kitchen is better.
  • What nobody would believe is there: “People in the office on a Friday afternoon.”
  • Most puzzling thing about Puzl: “In the two elevators, if you press the same button, you end up on different floors.” (We know. It’s a feature.)
  • Unofficial office rule: the boss carries in the weekly groceries himself, and everyone else watches.
  • The team’s most-ordered dish: “Something very healthy, like garlic sauce.” Then, more honestly: pizza, with extra garlic sauce.

Welcome to the community, Bolt Food. The parking spots are yours.
