Architect Engineer - Budapest (Építészmérnök)

Location: Puzl CowOrKing Budapest.

Puzl is the Operational REdeveloper for the future of Work. We are a vertically integrated Real Estate Group fully focused on the adaptive reuse of buildings into work and lifestyle mix-use developments. We transform complex existing shells into Class A workspaces where the "Puzl" signature—visible infrastructure, custom furniture, and industrial aesthetics—meets institutional-grade operational standards.

The Role

You’ll join Puzl' Studio in charge of planning, architecture, design, and renovations of all our projects across the region. You’ll become our technical hands and local eyes in Budapest. Working directly under the Chief Architect and Project Lead, your role will be to take high-level design concepts and convert them into a technical reality that works on the ground. You will be the "doer" who can bridge the gap between architectural vision and worksite execution.

We’ve started the 2nd phase of the conversion of the ex-textile factory into Puzl CowOrKing Budapest yesterday (yup yesterday at the time of writing…). That means we’ll more than double our size to 450 seats and need you onboard to help us have a flowless implementation while also planning phase 3 which is coming around the corner. Did we say we liked challenges?

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Implementation & Quality Control
  • Licensing: Follow legislation changes and coordinate with authorities to attain all required licenses. Consult the team on feasibility of the project in terms of legal requirements. Help prepare building/notification permit documentation, including but not limited to: translation of all graphic materials, elaboration of explanatory notes, filling in the necessary forms, and assisting the team in all processes.
  • Technical Drafting: Translating design intent from Sofia into local technical drawings that are buildable by Budapest contractors.
  • MEPs: Collaborate with Hungarian engineers to plan projects. Research and find local specialists that we can work with. Fear not, our Chief Engineer will be here with you every step of the way.
  • Revit Drawing: You’ll draw… Given that most ceiling MEPs are visible, in addition to doing active clash detection you’ll also need to make sure that routes aesthetics match our needs and wants.
  • On-Site Logic: Managing the quality control on the worksite. You aren't just checking whether a wall is straight; you are verifying that the aesthetics of the planned interior design (The Revit drawings we just talked about…) and the technical "logic" of the infrastructure (HVAC, cabling, etc.) match the Puzl standard.
  • Maintenance & FM Support: Support the Facility Management team with technical fixes and improvements for existing floors. You treat the building as a living machine that requires constant, high-quality optimization.
2. Local Coordination & Sourcing
  • Subcontractor Outreach: In collaboration with the worksite manager, you’ll research local implementation companies for our renovations. Proactively asking for offers, comparing local contractors and finding the right partners.
  • Administrative Guard: Supporting the legal and administrative flow of the Budapest project—ensuring that documentation is organized and follows Puzl’s organizational requirements.
3. Collaborative Execution
  • Independent but Aligned: While you work independently in Budapest, you operate as a technical extension of the Sofia team. You provide the "Truth from the Site" to the Chief Architect to ensure the project remains on track.

The Profile

  • Experience: 3–6+ years in architecture and 2-3 years in legalization procedures, ideally with a Property Developer or a high-end fit-out firm. You have hands on experience and understand that a project's success is won on the worksite, not just the screen.
  • Mindset: You are an Architect Engineer. You care more about the physics of a detail and the implementation logic than about the creative theory.
  • Organization: You have experience or are excited to work in an agile environment using (Jira/Confluence/Drive) and understand that logic and order are the only ways to manage a 2,000m2 renovation project.
  • Software: We work with Revit. So best if you have experience in the software.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is a must.

The Growth Path

You start as the Technical Architectural Anchor for our Budapest renovations. As you master the Puzl technical DNA and prove your ability to coordinate complex sites, there are two clear steps in your career path. Become a Lead Architect for a mini project (potentially within 6 months), then, following the successful implementation of your mini project, move to become the Project Lead for Phase 3 of Puzl Goldberger.

In Puzl, a Project Lead handles all architecture, technical coordination, and licensing for their project all the way to its final implementation while remaining in direct coordination with the Chief Architect and Chief Engineer. In this, they are seconded by an Interior Architect who handles interior design, materials, furnishing, and finishing.

Why Puzl?

We offer the chance to move beyond pure architecture jobs and into the realm of managed offices across the region. You will work on complex projects where your choices directly impact the productivity and well-being of hundreds of members.
